ITA Days at BMFA Buckminster – come and join us.

We have a title of 'Introduction to Aerobatics' but the days we run at BMFA Buckminster on the first Wednesday of every month are much more than that!

There are so many different disciplines within our sport of aeromodelling, but we believe the most important aspect is that you enjoy your flying.

For anyone flying any model at clubs around the world, after the initial learning period of taking off, flying in a safe way and mastering the art of landing, the natural progression is to fly some simple aerobatics. These days at Buckminster will help every pilot to have better control and understanding of their model, increase spatial awareness, and recover your model from unfamiliar attitudes in flight which may avoid a disaster.  Experimenting at a safe height will give an indication of the models capability, add to your own ability, and help preserve your model to fly another day.

It might be flying in a straight line over say 400 metres, then doing the same inverted, or doing a loop or a roll across the centre line.  No matter how simple these manoeuvres are they are the start of a more satisfying time spent at the field and the beginning of a more rewarding sport, giving you something to aim for every time you fly. Forward planning is the perfect start to any successful flight.  We will try and help everyone from the very beginning to representing your country, but you decide what you want to do. Our specialist knowledge is with FAI F3A precision aerobatics but even this had to begin somewhere and we will never forget where we started.

We are a group of experienced radio control pilots who fly an international class of model and we are very happy to pass on our knowledge gained over the years to any BMFA member who thinks it would help them to fly better and get more satisfaction from their flying, no matter what type of model you fly.

A Possible Offer to Clubs

Due to the popularity of our National Flying Centre we are unable to run our days over a weekend. If your club members are unable to attend on the first Wednesday of the month but would like to experience our 'Introduction to Aerobatics' days please contact us.  We may be able to arrange for our mentors to visit your club site.  We would not be able to give our first timers presentation but depending on travel and commitments at the time we may be able to run a ITA day at your club.
