The main runway

We are lucky enough to be able to use the fantastic facilities at our BMFA National Flying Centre at Buckminster with the kind permission of the Centre Manager and the maintenance team.  On our days we have exclusive use of the main runway and the pilots shelter if we need it.  We fly one model at a time under supervision from your mentor.

We usually meet in the workshop located in the Goldsmith Hanger for the morning presentation, and on occasions use the hanger to assemble models, but there are times we have to be flexible when our usual location is in use.  Outside mains sockets are available for charging LiPos.

All those involved in running our ITA days are volunteers, and therefore pilots paying the daily rate to fly on the day (if they are not already Season Ticket holders  Season Tickets – BMFA National Visitor Centre ) add to the financial running of the National Centre.

For visitors who wish to stay overnight and cannot take advantage of the onsite camping facilities this link takes you to the BMFA accommodation list.
